Program Records Fall at KCAC Indoor Championships

The KCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships wrapped up this weekend with strong individual performances, school records, and multiple All-Conference honors for the program. The women finished 9th and the men placed 10th in a competitive 14-team field.

Day One Highlights

The meet opened Friday with Darla Crow making an immediate impact. Competing in just her third indoor meet, Crow entered ranked 12th and fought her way into the top eight to earn All-Conference honors.

Marcus Fiedler delivered one of the top performances of the weekend in the 5,000 meters, breaking his own school record with a time of 16:11.59 while earning All-Conference recognition. Emma Graber also added a strong effort in the 5k, running an indoor personal best of 20:30.25.

Both 4x800 meter relay teams earned All-Conference honors.
The women's squad of Taryn Paulino, Ariana Cerda, Sydney Hart, and Star Espinoza ran a gritty race to secure a top-eight finish.
On the men's side, Jason Klabo, Asa Johnson, Zane Basler, and Bryce Williams delivered a strong team effort to reach the podium.

Day Two Performances

Freshman Jason Klabo earned All-Conference honors in the 600 meters with a time of 1:24.67. Bryce Williams recorded a personal best in the same event. Taryn Paulino ran a season best just outside scoring position, and Ariana Cerda added another personal record to her season. Xavier Craven clocked an indoor PR of 54.85 in the 400 meters.

Asa Johnson posted an indoor personal best of 2:03.52 in the 800 meters.

In the mile, Star Espinoza and Braylon Hunnell ran lifetime bests, with Hunnell finishing in 4:47.79. Fiedler doubled back from the 5k to earn additional All-Conference honors with a personal best in the mile.

The 3,000 meters produced two of the most notable performances of the meet. Emma Graber ran a personal best for the third consecutive week, finishing in 11:42.24. Bethany Schrag closed out her indoor career by breaking the school record with a time of 11:08.64.

Distance Medley Relays

Both Distance Medley Relay teams capped off the meet with All-Conference finishes.

The men's lineup featured Asa Johnson, Xavier Craven, Jason Klabo, and Marcus Fiedler.
The women's team included Taryn Paulino, Ariana Cerda, Emma Graber, and Bethany Schrag.

The indoor season now shifts toward preparation for the outdoor campaign.
