Softball Splits Doubleheader at Wedel Field; Jensen’s Homer Powers First Win of Season

Game 1 – Hastings 6, Bethel 4

Hastings used a pair of big innings early to take control of the opener, scoring three runs in the second and three more in the fourth to build a 6–0 advantage.

Bethel began to chip away in the fourth inning when Sadie Jensen launched a two-run home run to left field, putting the Threshers on the board. Jensen finished the game 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

In the sixth, Bethel added two more runs as Kaylee Linne doubled and later scored, and Jensen delivered again with an RBI single to cut the deficit to 6–4. Despite outhitting Hastings 9–6 after the fourth inning, Bethel could not complete the comeback.

Emma Figueroa provided four strong innings of relief, allowing just three hits and no runs to keep the Threshers within striking distance.

Game 2 – Bethel 10, Hastings 2 (5 Innings)

The Threshers responded in dominant fashion in Game 2, erupting for six runs in the third inning and four more in the fourth to secure a 10–2 run-rule victory — Bethel's first win of the season.

After trailing 1–0 early, Bethel's offense broke through in the third. Kyndel Randall and Alohi Mundon sparked the rally, while Kiyana Cash, Kaylee Linnebur, Katelynn Quitado, and Daisy Escalate all delivered RBI hits during the six-run frame.

The fourth inning sealed it. Randall reached again, Mundon followed with a single, and the Threshers strung together timely hits to stretch the lead to 10–2.

In the circle, Emma Killingsworth went the distance, allowing just four hits and two runs while striking out four in five innings of work to earn the win.

Bethel finished Game 2 with eight hits, drew five walks, and played error-free defense.
