Volleyball Downed In Three Sets By The Bluejays

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Volleyball team hosted Tabor College in KCAC Conference play Saturday Afternoon. The Bluejays took the first three sets against the Threshers to take home the victory.

The Threshers fell behind early in the first set and were never able to get back into the set. Tabor went on to take the 25-15 victory in the opening set.

Bethel came out with some fight to start the second set as both teams opened up trading points. Following a Bethel timeout and a Maddie Chupp kill, Tabor strung together six straight points to pull ahead 13-6. Bethel was able to string together a few small runs of their own to get the score 23-21 and force a Tabor timeout. The Threshers scored the first point out of the timeout to get within one point. However, the Bluejays were able to close the door on the Threshers and take the second set 25-22.

The Bluejays jumped out to an early 9-3 lead in the third set and never looked back as they would take the set 25-12 and the match 3-0.

Mia Loganbill led the Thresher attack with 10 kills. Katey Wilhelm, in her first contest back from injury, led Bethel with 13 digs.

Bethel will be back in action on Tuesday, October 12th as they travel to Ottawa, Kan. to take on the Braves with first serve slated for 7:00 PM.
